The biennial National Workshop on Marine Environmental DNA (eDNA) convenes researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to discuss the state of eDNA science and opportunities for its adoption as a natural resource management technology. The 2024 workshop will highlight a new National eDNA Strategy.

At this meeting, the public can learn about and discuss developments in the Great Lakes fishery. Commissioners and the U.S. and Canadian Committees of Advisors will hold meetings here as well.

Theme:  Resilience in a Changing World

Pollinator Week is an annual celebration in support of pollinator health that was initiated and is managed by Pollinator Partnership.   This year's event urges us to envision a future where pollinators not only survive but thrive. These essential creatures, including bees, butterflies, moths, bats, beetles, and hummingbirds, are the unsung heroes behind the food we enjoy and the beauty that surrounds us. As we reflect on the interconnectedness of our world, let's unite in a collective effort to protect and preserve these crucial pollinators. 

Organized by The Physiology Section of the American Fisheries Society and Michigan Sea Grant, in collaboration with associates from the U.S. Geological Survey Great Lakes Science Center, the 15th ICBF meeting will provide an opportunity for researchers and scientists from all over the world to share and collaborate on developments and findings in fish physiology.

The range of topics will reflect current research in fish conservation physiology, environmental physiology, evolutionary physiology, use of fishes in biomedical research, and other emerging issues. 

The IUFRO World Congress is one of the largest global forest events, held every five years since 1893.  The congress gives a unique opportunity to gather worldwide leading scientists and top leaders to contribute and co-create for a sustainable future within Forestry, Climate and Society – aligned with the UN´s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the future ahead.

[T]his congress is unique in serving as a meeting point for scientists and practitioners from universities, research institutes, governmental, non-governmental and private-sector organizations who are working on a wide breadth of biological control targets including insect pests, plant and animal diseases, weeds and invasive vertebrates whether they use importation, augmentation or conservation as approaches and whether they are interested in basic science related to biological control or in improving its application.
